What Comes Around

Believe it or not, I used to be crafty. Not super-crafty, by any means. Ryan is still waiting for a denim jacket decorated with a sparkly embroidered dragon, holding a kitten, and crying a single tear that he requested the second year we were dating. However, there was a time when I dabbled in things like crocheting and embroidery. Most people who have known me at least five years have some piece of my handiwork: a scarf, or a blanket, a tea towel, or a shirt. None of these pieces are spectacular by any means. Most of them are flawed in some way, and I'm sure a few are only used when I come to visit.

Until this week though, Meg had nothing that I had made.

I had thought about embroidering some clothing, or crocheting a blanket for her, but instead I have just been spending time with her. Also, with the speed I finish projects anything I would have started would have been too small by the time I finished.

Thank goodness for hand-me-downs.

I made that onesie. Well, I didn't make it, but I put the little flower on it. And I put a little flower on another onesie. And cherries on a third. And there is even one with a palm tree. I embroidered all of these onesies when our friend Liz had her baby five years ago.

This week Liz brought us more clothes than I think Meg will ever wear, all now too small for her girl. These onesies were in with those clothes. I am so happy to have them. What a great surprise.

It's baby clothes karma. And it's actually inspired me to finally start on that jacket. Only this one will be a 2T.

Damn, and I just loaned out my bedazzler. I bet you could find cool stuff to make on Sublime Stitching? Check it out.

My sister does free hand embroidery, and has made her girls really cute T-Shirts, and made herself a bag with a skull embroidered on it. I'm not so crafty, I'd forget the E in Mea's name or something.

I wish I could embroider better. Maybe its good that I can't though...my kids (and jeremiah's) clothing would be covered in their names, my name, roses, hearts, little snails...etc..etc..

I crochet nylon net scrubbies. That is my one craft. I envy your artistic talent and would like to order that jacket in a Plus size:)

It is impossible to be in a bad mood with that little face around. She is wonderful.

Awww. that is a cute onesie. And the baby in it even cuter. I have a thing for cherry clothing. Until she was three, Jarrah pretty much exclusively owned cherry-covered clothing. And I didn't make any of it. For some reason, they don't make as much fruit-themed goodness after that age.

OMG, Not to take away from your mad craft skills, but Meg just keeps getting cuter and cuter and cuter.

I'm really sorry and I'm sure your flower is cute and all but I was just way to distracted by OMGCUTEBABYCHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEKSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You could put that girl in a paper bag and she'd look adorable. And no one would notice the paper bag.

That onesie is so cute. As is the picture in general.:)

Hunh. I figured you'd embroider little evil minions, or tiny bleeding hearts.

Meg's personality is really starting to come through in her pics.

I love that onesie!! I wish I was crafty. In anything. I keep telling myself I'm going to learn to knit. It's kind of like how I keep telling myself I'm going to exercise. So far, my self is not listening.

Regardless of all that - Holy Shit, Meg is SOOOOOO CUTE!

The shirt is adorable, but it's very hard to look at it when her cutie face is right above it!!

What's a tea towel? And why don't I have one? I've been having tea this whole time without a towel. I'll ask my grams, I'd bet she'd know. She totally knows how to drink tea...and scotch.

She's getting so big! And seriously cuter by the day. You have to do something about that. You are never going to be able to say no to her with her being that cute!

I don't know how to sew anything. If I need a button put back on, I ask Adam to do it. So, I am very impressed with the onesie!!

I just tried leaving a comment, but it went to some error page. Although it probably went through and I am going to feel stupid for writing the same thing twice. But, oh well, here it goes....

Meg is getting so big! And cuter in every photograph I see. You really have to do something about that. You won't ever be able to say no to her with her looking that cute!
