Funky

I am in a funk, and it isn't the good George Clinton kind.

Don't believe me? I have already used that George Clinton line today on Twitter. I tried to come up with something new for the blog, but I couldn't. I played around with a Roger Clinton line, but then realized no one would get it unless they knew about the George Clinton line, or had smelled Roger Clinton and found him less than fresh.

Sigh.

See? See the funk? I have been reduced to typing "sigh" like some fourteen year old girl.

I have thought all day about how to get out of this funk. Unfortunately, most of my ideas require actually "doing" something, which, in my current state, is the last thing I want to do. The first thing I want to do? Sit on the couch, drink wine, and watch television. Oh, and think about my funk. And sigh. I find that funk begets funk, and that if we could find a way to turn funk into energy we could solve the world's resource crisis. I would consider figuring out how to do that, but that would take effort, and that would take time away from the sighing. And wine drinking.

Well, at least the George Clinton thing was funny.

Or maybe it wasn't.

Sigh.

Too bad you didn't play basketball with me in high school. Then you could make a Luke Funk joke.

No?

Okay then.

Moving along.

I posted pictures of cats.

It's an all time low I tell you.

I'm blaming it on January blahhs.

I'm in a funk too! And you are so right... funk begets funk. Never thought about it that way, but seriously, amen.

Sigh. I'm not in a funk but I think I smell a funky smell. Wait, that's me. I've been sitting on the couch drinking wine and eating garlic bread. Bread begets funk too. Did ya know? Sigh.

Did you try to PLAY some George Clinton? THAT might help...

This time of year is just funky, and not in a good way. We have had snow or ice or rain everyday for forever it feels like, what I wouldn't give for even a 40 degree day...

I agree about the January funk syndrome. Does it make you feel any better to know there are a lot of other funky people out here?

I think I'm going to follow Jules' advice.

Making the most of a good funk is really an acquired skill. I may look like I am eating sour cream and onion chips right out of the bag with rolled up deli meat while watching Anthony Bourdain, but actually I am contemplating. And FINDING MYSELF.

Feel free to steal the idea.... (I can't reply to your comment directly because you have the "no reply" thingy on)

OK, I can't stay upset after reading http://www.givesmehope.com/ -- it's a funk buster you can do while drinking wine and sitting on the couch!

It's contagious. I'm in a total funk too and now I know it's all your fault. Which makes my funk slightly better but probably doesn't help yours.

Hold on, I have to go stare at the floor for a few minutes.

But do you promise the funk, the whole funk and nothin' but the funk?
