Sloppy Joe Recipe

Here it is, the Mitchell family sloppy joe recipe ... for your Halloween enjoyment.

1 lb. ground turkey (you can use beef, but this is leaner)
1 green pepper, chopped
1 yellow onion, chopped
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 small can tomato paste
1 tsp. garlic
2 Tbs. brown sugar
2 Tbs. white vinegar
1 Tbs. yellow mustard (the cheaper the better)
1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
salt and pepper to taste

Put the turkey, green pepper and onion in a large skillet and saute until meat is brown. Add all the other ingredients, and stir until it is a lovely gloppy mess. Serve on toasted, buttered hamburger buns.

Or, you can just throw everything in a slow cooker and cook on high for three hours, or low for six.

It is a good thing 2 of her readers are members of the Mitchell family.

Mmm. I will be making these soon! Thanks for sharing the secret family recipe. As the sole reader of your blog who is not family, I promise to treat it with the respect it deserves. Although, since I share a first name with your mother, maybe I can be grafted into your family tree on a random side branch. :)

You forgot to mention that this is the best dumped over a bag of plain tortilla chips.
